Sleepover Party Games for Teenage Girls

Sleepover games for teenage girls. There’s a whole lot potential there, let me just say. Let’s stop beating around the bush then and get you some of the best games that you can arrange for that party.

Slumber Obstacle
This one’s a whole lot of fun. So what you do is you collect all these items from around the room that you can use for an obstacle course. Things like pillows, cushions and the like. In a spacious room, set these up into an obstacle course. Divide the group into two teams of equal numbers and then keep a sleeping bag at the start of the line. At the blow of the whistle, the first member gets into the slumber bag and hops through the obstacle course. At the end of the line, she gets out of the bag, runs over to the starting line and hands over the bag to the next member who then gets into the bag and repeats the whole process again. This is done till the last person has crossed the end line. The team that finishes first, wins.

Tracing the Object
In this game, each girl plays for her own self. For this, buy some cheap glow in the dark objects and have them hidden all over the house. Keep a count of how many objects there were. Then turn off the lights and let the hunting begin. The girl that gets the maximum number of objects, wins this sleepover game for girls.

Sardines
This is a really fun game and one that evokes a whole lot of sniggers and laughter. Choose a player who will be tagged as the player. This is the player who will be hiding in the house. The rest of the people exit the house while turning off all the lights in the house. Once they are out in the yard, they count till 70 and only then do they come into the house. Each of them has to find the hidden player by themselves. When they find the player, they hide with her. Make sure that no noise is made, the objective is to not get caught. One by one, the players start to hide. The last person standing has lost the game. He has to be the next person to hide while all the others search for her.

Taboo!
If you’ve never played this one, I’ll say that you need to get to this one real quick. The way it’s played is that there are a set of cards that have a word on them and this word needs to be conveyed to the teammates, but while conveying the word, they cannot use some taboo words that have been listed out on the card. If the words are used, it’s a foul round. Each player must try and convey as many words as possible in under a minute. Read the rest of this entry »

Computer Game Addiction

Whether you’re into casual puzzle games, graphics-intensive RPGs, or top-down strategy games, chances are you will end up playing for more than just a few minutes. Once you’re engaged in the game, all thoughts of the important task to be done fade away, and your sense of real-world time is completely supplanted by in-game time. By the time you look up, a few hours may have past. You’ll feel a pang of guilt as you realize how much progress you could have made if you had been plugging away at that work assignment over the past few hours. Then the internal battle begins: you could stop playing the game now and get to work. You should get to work. But you’re enjoying the game so much, and (more often than not) you’re so close to earning a new badge, beating a boss, discovering a secret, becoming head of a guild, or whatever other goal is easy at hand.

Gaming Guilt

Of course, the game will still be there after you’ve cleaned your apartment, but in the moment of internal struggle you manage to convince yourself that it will be okay to keep playing for just a bit longer. Often, the reason the gamer in you wins over your more responsible side is because going back to the world of the game is the easiest way to rid yourself of that horrible guilt that washed over you when you finally took a bathroom break. Soon, you’ll be engaged in the game once again, and the outside world, along with all of its negative emotions, will fade away.

Computer Game Addiction

If this has happened to you, you know what a vicious cycle it can be. The next few hours pass, and when you lift your gaze from the game again the guilt returns, only stronger. The comfortable world of the game beckons you back, and soon you’ve missed your deadline or you’ve failed your midterm. In extreme cases, this can become a form of addiction that extends beyond just one day. Feelings of negative self-esteem will drive you back to the world of games even when you aren’t necessarily shirking any obligations. Luckily, most of us never quite get to that point, learning our lesson after the first couple of epic gaming sessions threaten to negatively affect our lives. Read the rest of this entry »

How to Build a Horseshoe Pit

Supplies
Two six-foot-long treated wood 2×4 or 2x6s; cut in half, two eight-foot-long treated wood 2x4s or 2x6s; cut in half, several bags of sand (enough to fill two 36×48 inch boxes at least 3-4 inches deep), two three-foot-long steel posts (about an inch in diameter) and 16-24 exterior (deck) screws (2 1/2 inch long, approx.). The tools you would need are electric drill with screw driver, sledge hammer, shovel, measuring tape and saw.

Procedure
Pitch 1: Once you assemble all the supplies, start off with making the frame for your pit. Grab the two 36 inch boards and two 48 inch boards and form a rectangle. For making a single frame, screw together the pieces at corners. Now do the same thing for another frame, by overlapping ends in the same direction for the two frames to have same dimensions.

Pitch 2: Take measurements of the building area, you would need 48 feet distance form the back of one pitching area to the back of the other. The width needed would be six feet. But do not forget, as mentioned, that you would need 2 feet of open space behind each box. Dimensions and measurements are very crucial for a proper horseshoe pit.

Pitch 3: At the ends of the playing area, center each box sideways, with fronts being 36 feet apart. The playing area should be parallel to the side of the boxes which is longer.

Pitch 4: For getting an idea as to where to dig, mark the boundary of each of the boxes on the grass using spray paint, flour, lime or anything conveniently available. Once you do that, remove the boxes.

Pitch 5: Whatever you do, you are going to trample the grass in the pit area. Therefore, do not worry just dig in the grass and dig down in a rectangular shape. This will make the level of the frame top a little bit lower than the grass. A bowl shaped hole would be convenient later to keep the sand in place.

Pitch 6: Now place the frame in the crater and anchor the iron stake in the center of the pit. Make it lean toward the other stake slightly, around 3 inches. When you pound it down with the hammer, make sure that 13 to 15 inch of the stake protrudes above the ground, outside the pit. Read the rest of this entry »

Play Dice Games

Sevens Out
This is an interesting game and if played with kids, it can definitely improve their mathematics! Here we go then!
•Before you start playing, fix a final score. For instance all the players will play till a player reaches 400 or 800 or even 1500 points.
•For this game you require two dices and a score pad.
•One player amongst all the players will be selected to start the game.
•Throw both the dices and at the same time keep a tally of your score.
•Until one player gets a 7 his or turn will continue.
•Once you get the 7, pass on the dice to the other player and write your score.
•Add the numbers which came on the dice after every roll. To explain it better, let’s say you roll a 4 and 6. You will have a score of 10.
•Now after you get a 7, add the tally and note it down.
•If you get doubles in a roll, you would gain a double score.
•For example, if you roll a 5 and 5, that is 10, the points you get for that throw doubles to 20.
Zilch
Okay, this is a similar game, though the score is much higher and is played with 6 dices. Let’s roll then!
•Roll all the six dice at once.
•Now the catch is that minimum 1 scoring dice has to be taken aside with each roll, do that the player can continue his or her turn.
•When a player has 300 points in his or her kitty, he can choose to bank the points or carry on.
•If a player no more rolls scoring dice, he or she is ‘zilch’, with a zero score. On the other hand if a player uses all the six dice as scoring dice, he can roll all of them again to add more points.
•Next player will play if the previous player banks the points or scores zilch.
•Even after a player reaches 10000 points, the others are permitted to attempt and get as close to that player as they can.
•At the end of the round, the player who has the most points, is the winner.
Sequences
This is also called as straight shooter and is played with 6 dice. Here are the dice game instructions with regards to this game.
•Each player rolls the dice in turn and scores for a sequence of consecutive numbers starting from 1.
•If 2 or more of the same number are rolled, only one will count.
•If a roll has three 1′s, the score of that player is cancelled and the game starts all over.
•First player to get to a 100 points wins.
•The scoring system goes like for 1 on the dice you get 5 points, 1 and 2, you get 10 and so on. Read the rest of this entry »

Funny Video Ideas

Make a Spoof
Mocking someone or something in a good humored manner is a skill. Spoofing a video or a T.V. show has become a popular act among the youngsters. Any serious movie, video or a show can be made hilarious. Study the video that you have picked up. Understand and analyze the script. Put in some imaginations and ideas to make the video as funny as possible. Create a script and replace it with the original one. Once you have spoofed up the video, take a look at it and make the necessary changes if required. If you think your spoof is funny, then release it and sit back and enjoy a good laugh.

Create a Sketch Comedy
A sketch comedy is 5-10 minutes long and has short comedy scenes. A sketch comedy explores a concept or an idea in a comedic manner. It’s not easy to frame such a skit. Therefore, one must read a lot of books and watch a lot of films on comedy to understand it. Though sketch comedy is a cluster of short comedy scenes, the focus on humor that you want to create should be maintained. While doing the study, make simple notes and create titles on which you want to write a sketch comedy. Involve your friends, neighbors or parents who can give you diverse funny ideas for making a sketch comedy. Avoid including too many characters in the play as the sketch comedy must last only up to 10 minutes. Once you have your title ready, create a funny script and go through it as many times as possible to attain the perfect script. Now, convert the script into an act and shoot it. At last, when you reach the stage of editing, pay attention to the length of the comedy scenes. If the scenes are too long, the humor will be lost and the audience will quickly lose interest in your video. Keep the main focus on comedy and make your scenes short and gripping.

Mock a Documentary

Hide the Camera
Hidden cameras can capture many candid and funny moments. However, as the camera is hidden, people are unaware that their actions are being recorded on the camera. For this, they might even get furious. Therefore, avoid making a video that would hurt or insult the person. If you happen to record an embarrassing situation of someone, take the consent of that person to release the video as it might humiliate the person.
